The Recycle Jungle is a community plant and object exchange project.
We are a movement that recycles used containers into new homes for plants. We inspire others to think creatively about objects they would discard, instead turning it into a new pot to plant something in.

We invite people to contribute their objects and plants to the project, adding to the Jungle collection. The exchange continues as people who participate are welcome to take one of the new plant objects home.
The objects

Our Jungle is a collection of reused containers of any shape or size, filled with a bit of earth and a plant of any kind. We like to think outside the box with our new plant homes: containers can be anything from a shoe or cookie box to a backpack or shopping cart. Part of the fun is thinking creatively: as long as it can hold dirt to plant something in, it can be a new plant home!
The plants

We love all types of plants. For the Jungle, we like to use plant babies, propagations, seeds, or plants that have outgrown their old pots. In the community spirit, we aim to only use plant donations and never purchase new plants. If your plants have plant babies or are able to donate propagations, send them our way!
The Jungle

We keep a digital collection of the jungle so each recycled object's story can be traced, sharing the transformation journey to its new destination.

Workshops

We offer workshops to transform your own recycled object into a new plant pot. Sign up to our newsletter below and we'll keep you updated when we have a new workshop coming up!

How can you participate?
Bring us your objects or plants to our Treehouse Tribe location in Amsterdam Noord. We can take care of the whole process and prepare the plant for yourself or a new owner.
We also encourage you to create a jungle in your own home. Recycle your objects by planting new life into them. Send us your photo and we can add them to the Jungle collection. If you have any questions or would like to participate, get in touch with us here.
